Classic Car Journeys is run by Steve McCullagh.

I’ve spent my working life in the motor trade and much of my leisure time participating in car and motorcycle events all over the world.

A few years ago I started to think about the possibility of running my own affordable tours in interesting parts of the world. I was well aware that there are several compainies offering international tours but they tend to be outside many peoples reach. First, they are usually lengthy affairs, typically taking a month or more and second, they usually involve shipping your own vehicle. Lastly, they are priced beyond many people’s annual holiday budget.

I have been particpating in Classic Rallies for the past twenty years. My first foray into competitve rallying saw me win top novice in the Classic Monte Carlo. However, I’ve always favoured non competitve events, preferring instead to enjoy the places I visit as opposed to rushing through with the pressure of a time limit.

In 2005, after returning from my second motorcycle trip to India, I made the decision to run a car rally in India. In October 2006 I took sixty people to India to take part in the first ever International Ambassador Rally and Classic Car Journeys was born.

In 2007 we added Classic Europe and then in 2008 we added Classic Himalaya. Our first Classic Africa is planned for 2011.
